Update 27-8

Met de pups gaat het geweldig! Ze zijn veel buiten op het terras, waar zon en schaduw is en ze kunnen spelen, slapen en eten. Het zijn nu echt kleine hondjes geworden, met tandjes die hard kunnen bijten en ze zijn heel alert op wat er gebeurt om ze heen. Op maandag 20 augustus zijn ze ontwormd, en op vrijdag 24 augustus hebben ze hun pupenting gehad. De dierenarts was ook heel tevreden! Alle reutjes hebben twee balletjes die ingedaald zijn (ook heel belangrijk) en ze zijn erg fit. Wij zijn super blij met dit nestje!

The pups are doing great! They spend a lot of time outside on our terrace, where there is sun and shade, and they can play, sleep and eat together. They are really little doggies now, with small teeth that bite really hard, and they are very alert on everything that happens around them. They have had their pill against worms on monday 20 august, and we went to the vet for their first vaccination on friday 24 august. The vet was really pleased with the litter! All boys have two testicles (very important too) and they are really healthy. We are super happy with this litter!

Het gaat erg goed met de pups! Als het mooi weer is zitten ze buiten in de ren. Ze lopen ook regelmatig op het terras en in huis rond als wij er bij zijn, en ze vinden dat heel erg leuk. De halsbandjes zitten er sinds 11 augustus om, dus nu zijn ze herkenbaar. De teefjes hebben een lichtrose en donkerrose bandje om, de reutjes de andere kleuren. Het lichtgroene bandje wordt gedragen door het reutje met het witte streepje op z'n borst. Heel prettig dat ze nu herkenbaar zijn, want nu kunnen we hun gedrag ook beter observeren. We waren al voordat ze drie weken oud waren begonnen met het voeren van geweekte brokjes, en ze vinden dat erg lekker. Maar mama Felyce geeft ook nog prima melk.

Everything goes excellent with the pups! When the weather is good they are outside. They can walk around the terrace or in the house when we are with them, and they like that a lot. We put the collars on them on 11 august, so now they are recognizable. The bitches have the light and dark pink colars, the males wear the other colours. The light green collar is the male with the small white line on his breast. We like it a lot that we can recogneze them, especially because we can now observe their behaviour much better. Before they were three weeks old they received their first meals, and they like that a lot. But mama Felyce offers her milk also.

Alles gaat goed! / Everything goes well!

Met de pups gaat alles prima. Ze groeien goed, en Felyce zorgt goed voor ze. Vandaag begonnen de oogjes open te gaan. Sommige pups hadden van één oog een stukje open, andere van beide ogen. Ze gaan ook wat steviger op hun pootjes staan, en zijn bedrijviger/drukker in de bak. Afgelopen maandag is de enveloppe met de namen van de pups op de bus gegaan. De namen van de reuen zijn: Ivan, Ivory (deze namen zijn door de baasjes gekozen), Igor, Ishtar en Isger (deze zijn door Meta verzonnen). De teefjes gaan Issy en Ischa heten.

The pups are doing very well. They are growing and Felyce takes good care of them. Today the eyes where a little bit open, some only one eye, others both eyes. They are getting stronger in their legs, and are busier in walking around. Last monday we posted the enveloppe with the names of the pups. The names of the males: Ivan, Ivory (their new owners have chosen these names), Igor, Ishtar and Isger (those names where chosen by Meta). The females will be called Issy and Ischa.

Dag 3 / day 3

Alles gaat goed met Felyce en haar pups! Ze groeien allemaal goed, zien er glanzend uit, zijn levendig en Felyce is erg waakzaam en bezorgd over ze. Ze wil ze liefst helemaal niet alleen laten, en als we ze wegen (en haar even buitensluiten) krabt ze erg aan de deur. Hieronder weer een paar foto's!

Everything goes well with Felyce and her puppies! They grow, look shiny, they are lively and Felyce is very protective about them. She doesn't like it to leave them alone, and when we take care of them (weigh and check them) and shut her outside the door, she lets us know that she doesn't appreciate that. A few more photos!

De bevalling is begonnen! / Felyce has started giving birth!

Om vier uur vannacht is Rudy bij Felyce gaan liggen omdat ze erg onrustig was. Vanaf acht uur begonnen de zichtbare weeën, en was ze erg hijgerig en onrustig. Het duurde daarna tot kwart voor tien, toen werd de eerste pup geboren! Hij was flink zwaar, 507 gram. De uitdrijving ging ook moeilijk, we hebben haar wat mee moeten helpen. Het duurde een flinke tijd voordat ze weer weeën kreeg, en om vijf voor half twaalf werd de tweede pup geboren. Daarna ging het rap, om vijf voor twaalf kwam nummer drie. Tot nu toe zijn het allemaal reutjes!

Last night Rudy stayed with Felyce from four o' clock. At eight we started seeing the contractions, and at a quarter to ten the first puppy was born! The second came at almost half past eleven, and the third one five minutes before twelve. All male puppies so far!

Update 19.00 uur:
Het zijn in totaal zeven pups geworden. Vijf reuen en twee teefjes. Het is allemaal erg goed gegaan. Felyce is erg zorgzaam en tijdens de bevalling was ze erg relaxt (nadat de eerste twee geboren waren). Om kwart voor vier is de laatste pup geboren!

Felyce delivered seven pups in total. Five males and two females. Everything went very well. Felyce is very caring for her pups, and during the delivery she was very relaxed (at least after the birth of the first two pups). The last pup was born at a quarter to four!

Prijs van een pup / Puppy costs

Het gaat heel goed met Felyce! Ze is aanhankelijk, loopt veel achter Rudy aan en heeft ook al een kinderschoentje gesloopt (wat ze dus normaal nooit doet). Kortom, ze lijkt wel echt zwanger :-)

We hebben wat vragen gekregen over hoeveel een pup van Felyce gaat kosten. De pupprijs zal 500 euro zijn.

Everything goes well with Felyce! She is very affectionate, goes where Rudy is going and molested a shoe from our daughter (which she normally never does). So, it looks like she's really pregnant :-)

We received the question about what the puppyprize will be for a pup from Felyce. We have determined that a pup will cost 500 euro.

Dekbericht opgestuurd / Sent the breeding message

Gisteren is het dekbericht naar de Raad van Beheer opgestuurd. Dit moet binnen 3 weken na de dekking gebeuren, we zijn dus prima op tijd. Aangezien Xeron in Duitsland woont moest er ook een kopie van zijn stamboom mee.
Diya is inmiddels ook loops geworden, en zij zit nu bij de dekreu. Dat worden straks dus twee nestjes ongeveer twee weken na elkaar!

Yesterday we sent the breeding message to the Dutch Kennelclub. This has to be done within 3 weeks after the breeding, we are nicely on time. Because Xeron lives in Germany a copy of his pedigree has to be sent with it.
Our Diya (Cairn Terrier) is in season now too, and she is visiting a male also. We'll have two litters about two weeks apart!

Felyce is weer thuis / Felyce is home again

Op 14, 15 en 16 mei is Felyce door Xeron gedekt. Hier is een foto van één van de dekkingen.

Nu is het afwachten hoe het verder zal gaan! Over een paar weken zullen we hopelijk kunnen zien of er half juli babies geboren zullen worden.

Now we have to wait! In a few weeks we hopefully can see if we'll have babies in july.

Het is Xeron gelukt! / Xeron has done it!

Vandaag is Felyce gedekt! Gisteren hebben we Felyce naar Duitsland gebracht, ze zal een poosje in de kennel waar Xeron (zo wordt de vader genoemd) woont blijven. Ze vond het prima, ze heeft een mooie grote kennel en een heel ruime tuin. Vanavond kreeg ik een mail dat ze vanochtend al voor het eerst gedekt is. Het ging heel rustig, ze hebben een half uur vast gezeten.

Today Xeron has fertilized Felyce! Yesterday we have brought Felyce to Germany. She will stay a while in the same kennel as Xeron (this is the name the father is called by). Felyce thought it was allright, she has a large kennel and a very nice big garden. Tonight I received an e-mail that she has been fertilized this morning. It went very well, they have been connected for a half hour.

Felyce is loops! / Felyce has started her heat period!

Gisteren is Felyce loops geworden! Komend weekend zullen we haar wegbrengen, ze blijft dan bij de papa van de pups totdat ze gedekt is.

Yesterday Felyce has started her heat period! This weekend we'll bring her to the father of the pups and she'll stay there for a few days.

Toen we op bezoek waren bij Xanto en zijn baasjes heb ik ook geprobeerd een paar foto's van hem te maken. Hij was echter zo geïnteresseerd in Felyce dat dat wel wat moeilijk was. Hij hangt hier dus een beetje raar scheef in de armen van zijn vrouwtje. Maar, hieronder staan nog een paar foto's van hem die ik van hun site heb gehaald!

When we visited Xanto and his owners I tried to make a few photos of him. That was really hard, because he was more interested in Felyce than in posing for the camera. So the photo turned out not so very beautiful, but, I have also picked a few photos from his site and will place them here too!

Nog niet loops / Still no signs of heat

We verwachten het ergens in april, maar het is nog niet zover. Felyce is nog steeds niet loops. Wel lijkt Mike (de hond van Meta's vader) wat meer geïnteresseerd te zijn in haar. Afwachten maar!

We were expecting that Felyce would be ready for breeding in april, but still no signs. It seems that Mike (the German shepherd of Meta's father) is a little more interested in her. We will wait and see!

Papa van de toekomstige pups! / Father of the puppies!

Afgelopen zondag zijn we met het hele gezin in de auto naar de beoogde papa van de pups gereden. De kennel heet Zwinger of the Black Pearl, en de eigenaars wonen in de buurt van Münster. Wel een eindje rijden dus! We werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen, de kids gingen meteen met de Duitse kinderen aan het spelen, en wij konden met elkaar kennismaken. We hebben een heel goed gevoel bij de eigenaars van de reu. En de reu zelf is een heel sociale hond met een lekker werkkarakter. Dus hierbij een foto van hem!

Last sunday we drove with our family to the father of Felyce's puppies. The kennelname is Zwinger of the Black Pearl, and the owners live in the Münster area (Germany). We enjoyed the hospitality of the owners, the children played immediately with the German kids and we have really come to know each other. We feel that there is a positive connection with the kennel's family, and the male we chose is very social and has a lot of working power. Here is a picture of him!

Stamboom Felyce / Pedigree Felyce

Felyce heeft een stamboom van de Raad van Beheer. Ze is in Nederland gefokt. In haar lijnen zitten veel werkhonden. Felyce zelf houdt ook erg van sportief bezig zijn. Ze is gek op ballen, en Flyball is dus helemaal haar sport. Met behendigheid loopt ze in de C-Klasse bij de FHN, en ze heeft het GG-2 diploma behaald. Ook heeft ze het diploma Verkeerszekere Hond. Felyce's pedigree is registered with the Dutch Kennelclub. She is bread in the Netherlands. In her pedigree are a lot of working dogs. Felyce is also very into dog sports. She loves balls, so flyball is totally her sport. She shows in agility in the C-Class (top class) in the Netherlands, and she has the GG-2 certificate (obedience). Dit is Felyce. Ze is ruim vijf jaar oud, en onze vijfde Duitse Herdershond. Ze heeft een lief en sociaal karakter, en is daarnaast heel sportief. Felyce is geröntgend in Duitsland en heeft daar de uitslag "A-Fast Normal" gekregen. Haar DNA is ook in Duitsland geregistreerd.

This is Felyce. She is five years old, and our fifth German Shepherd. She has a very sweet and social character, and is also very into dog sports. Felyce is X-rayed in Germany, the result was "A-Fast Normal". Her DNA is also registered in Germany.

Eerste post! / First post!

Vandaag besloten dat voor het toekomstig nest van Felyce een blog het meest handig is. Hopelijk zal dat ook zo blijken te zijn!
